An unmatched provider of settlement services to refugees and newcomers in New Brunswick, the New Brunswick Multicultural Council (NBMC) is the bilingual nonprofit, umbrella organization for established and emerging multicultural/ethno-cultural associations and immigrant-serving agencies in the province. Since 1983, NBMC has played a key advisory role to federal, provincial and municipal levels of government on issues relating to multiculturalism, immigration, newcomer settlement, retention and labour market integration. NBMC is proud to play a key role in the lives of their clients and in the promotion of diversity and inclusion in New Brunswick.


Now, NBMC is seeking its next Executive Director who will champion its mission to enrich and grow communities and enhance life in New Brunswick by enabling newcomers and members of the multicultural community to fully participate and prosper in society.


As NBMC’s next Executive Director, you will provide passionate, strategic and operational leadership in carrying out the organization’s mission and strategic priorities. With the support of the Board, you will lead the renewal and implementation of the vision and strategic plan for the organization. You will capably steward the organization’s budget and lead and engage a talented and committed team. You will build and strengthen NBMC’s relationships with various stakeholders including regulatory bodies, other agencies, community organizations, volunteers, the local community and the federal, provincial and local funding partners and grant providers that enable the important work of the NBMC. You will serve as a passionate and compelling ambassador for NBMC and you will ensure the organization has a strong presence and voice in the local community and beyond.


As the ideal candidate, you are a proven leader and manager with experience leading people, budgets, projects and programs in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. An effective bilingual communicator, you bring vision, managerial acumen, and excellent relationship building skills. You are an exceptional leader of people and have a proven track record of effectively supporting, inspiring and engaging the members of your team. You are diplomatic, resourceful and are familiar with not-for-profit funding models and grant providers. You are a highly effective leader who puts your full energy behind initiatives you believe in. You are passionate about promoting multiculturalism in New Brunswick and are ready to make a difference.
