WJS Canada is currently looking for an individual to join our programs in Nanaimo, as a Full-Time Program Manager / Quality Analyst.

Main’s Program is designed to accommodate youth that have experienced a history of failure in other programs and group homes in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Our services support youth recovering from adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and overcoming other adversity by providing them with housing and trauma-based guidance.
We accommodate and support traumatized youth in comfortable and welcoming facilities with twenty four hour staffing. Paired housemates share common areas but each child has his or her own bedroom. We offer a safe environment in a residential and friendly neighbourhood. An open door policy encourages a wandering youth to return at any time.
Central Island Care:
The Central Island Care program is designed to address the challenges presented by a history of failure in other programs and group home experiences for youth in Nanaimo, British Columbia.

We accommodate and support traumatized youth in a home provider’s residence and may include some support worker assistance. Paired housemates share common areas and each youth or child has his or her own bedroom. We create a safe environment in a residential and friendly neighbourhood. An open door policy encourages a return at any time.
The Program Manager provides operational and administrative direction for the development, implementation and management of the program in these CARF-accredited agencies. S/He implements and monitors policies and procedures related to day-to-day services to persons served and directs and coordinates the day-to-day management of program staff. S/He works directly with persons served and their families/care teams as required, and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating individual program plans. The Program Manager participates in agency decision making and is the primary liaison with the contracting body.
The Quality Analyst (QA) oversees home share providers who, under an agreement with WJS, share their home with a person(s) with a developmental disability. The QA recruits, screens and selects new home share providers based on an established criteria. Also assists current home share providers in planning for transitions, monitors the service, and provides quality assurance to funders, families and the agency. Also completes other office-related duties, including data entry, filing, etc.
This full-time position will work 40 hours per week. 16 hours per week will be completed at the Mains program, with a schedule of Sunday and Monday, 0800-1600. The remaining 24 hours per week, will vary to meet the need of the Mains program and the Central Island Care program.
Schedule varies to meet operational needs and front line work will be required. Required to be “on-call” during scheduled time off.
As an ideal candidate you possess:
*Will accept the CLBC-approved Home Study course at the time of hiring, with the requirement to complete the SAFE Home Course during employment.
