Pacifica owns and/or operates 38 properties in addition to a number of programs. The annual budget is approximately $21M and the total staff complement is around 150 employees.

Primary Objectives:

The Manager of Fund Development supports efforts to achieve strategic priorities through fundraising and obtaining grants by engaging donors, staff, and the broader community in the vision and mission of the organization. This position works with all departments and levels of staff in the organization ensure the goals of the organization are met. The Manager of Fund Development will use excellent interpersonal skills, and experience in fundraising to make a difference in the lives of the clients Pacifica serves.

Key responsibilities:

1. Fund Development

• Prepare, implement and report on the Society's fund development plan
• Research foundation, corporate and government funding sources and prepare grant applications
• Maintain accurate records of grants and ensure that reports are prepared and submitted
• Accept and record donations in the donor database reconciling funds received with Finance records.
• Produce monthly, quarterly and other reports on fund development progress
• Assist in setting annual donor targets and ensuring they are met
• Manage all electronic and paper files in accordance with CRA rules and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws
• Manage all aspects of special events
• Ensure that philanthropy and fund development are carried out in accordance with Pacifica Housing's vision, mission, values and policies
• Maintain current knowledge of legislation, technology, and strategies that are related to fund development
• Represent Pacifica Housing to donors, prospects, and the community

2. Donor Cultivation and Relationship Management

• Manage the stewarding of potential, current and past donors and partners
• Act as point of contact for donors, foundations, and other community partners

• Maintain information in the donor database
• Create and recommend effective recognition and stewardship program for donors; develop a plan to cultivate existing and pursue new donors
• Seek and manage partnerships with local, provincial and/or national businesses and organizations in support of Pacifica Housing's tenants and programs
• Work with staff to identify, cultivate and solicit new donors and promote positive community relations
• Collaborate with the Communications Manager to create communication materials including media materials, brochures, reports and special events materials
• Manage donor correspondence including direct mail appeals, thank you letters and other correspondence as required

 Qualifications (minimum Education and Experience requirements):

Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Education:

• Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Fundraising, Business Administration or a related field
• CFRE or similar designation is an asset

Experience:

• Two to four years of direct fundraising experience
• Experience fund development in excess of $300,000 annually
• Experience using donor management software

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
• Proven ability to analyze, plan, initiate and complete projects and events
• Highly proficient in MS Office programs including Word, Outlook and Excel
• Proficient in Windows Explorer and database management
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Time management

Additional Criteria for Role:

• Completion of a Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector is required before employment commences.
• Flexibility in work hours is required as there may be occasional evening and weekend work required for special events
