Re:Sound is seeking a VP, Finance who has at least 10 years of experience and strong analytical, strategic planning and digital transformation skills.  The candidate must be able to work well with the chief executive officer, board members and other senior managers.  Working in a small team, the role is a blend of strategic leadership and tactical execution.


The VP, Finance reports to the President and CEO and has a team of 4 staff who are responsible for accounting and payroll functions, reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, insurance and risk management and financial oversight of a Joint Venture. 


The following is a general description of the position’s duties and responsibilities:


  • Manage the accounting and finance functions including A/P, A/R, payroll, reporting, distributions to rights holders, audit etc.
  • Provide financial insight and analysis for all business leaders and provide proactive financial and other data for decision making
  • Manage the annual budget process.
  • Primary responsibility and liaison for the Audit and Finance Committee and the Board of Directors, as requested
  • Manage an investment portfolio to maximize return within investment policy guidelines
  • All compliance matters within Canada and the US.
  • Manage an Enterprise Risk Management framework for the organization
  • Annual Audit oversight, including the primary relationship with independent auditors
  • Work with an external finance team related to executing the responsibilities of the Joint Venture
  • Special projects – i.e. Cost Analysis, Digital Optimization, Process Improvement
  • Other duties as required




  • University degree in business, economics or commerce.
  • 10+ years of progressively more complex and senior experience
  • CPA designation
  • Team player
  • Coach/Mentor
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to move from strategy to execution seamlessly
  • Excellent communicator with varying stakeholder groups including peers, board members and staff
  • Be a creative problem solver and be confident in finding ways to improve service delivery while controlling costs
  • Able to identify and mitigate business risks
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing enterprise wide initiatives, ideally related to digital transformations.
  • Superior Excel skills and strong experience in managing an ERP system.
  • Bilingual (French/English) would be an asset
