The Organization  

Kids Help Phone is a Canadian and world leader, known for their expertise and continuous innovation as Canada’s only 24/7 professional counselling and information service for young people in both English and French. They have been pioneers in virtual care and e-health solutions for young people in Canada for almost 30 years.  

Since 1989, they have offered kids, teens and young adults a critical lifeline of hope and support through their free, anonymous and confidential services, which research shows significantly improves youth mental health.  

Young people reach out to Kids Help Phone’s professional counsellors and trained volunteers from every corner of the country via phone, Live Chat and texting, and benefit from their database of local youth-serving programs. Kids Help Phone’s website is a widely recognized model of youth-focused design; offering therapeutic tools, games, information, and counselling.  

The Position  

As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for working end to end in the data pipeline; from extracting data from SaaS solutions, SQL / AWS data warehouses and connecting up to existing Power BI Data Flows and Snowflake schema models for visualizations and dashboards. As a member of the Data team, you will collaborate with Data Engineers and other Data Analysts, and your work will have a direct impact on Kids Help Phone’s growth trajectory and future success.  

What You'll do  

• Have a deep understanding of how users interact with the Kids Help Phone website 
• Create reports and dashboards using SQL, DAX and Power Query in Power BI.
• Answer questions by using appropriate statistical techniques on available data 
• Report and analyze mobile, web, and social data through user path and engagement activity 
• Continuously improve analytics implementation and adapt to changing technologies 
• Develop, create and execute multivariate or A/B testing 
• Drive the data strategy across multiple listening posts (web, mobile, social, surveys, CRM and, market research) 
• Work with marketing software and tools such as Power BI, Sisense Data (formerly Periscope Data), Google Analytics Salesforce, Facebook Ads, Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads 

What You'll Need 

• University degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Business, or equivalent experience in a related field
• 2+ years of related experience in data management & analysis
• Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of analytics tools such as, but not limited to: Power
• BI, Sisense Data (previously Periscope Data), SPSS/PSPP, Tableau, Google Analytics Looker and Amplitude
• Experience with software application development, statistical analysis, writing SQL queries, DAX, and Power Query
• joining multiple tables, and business intelligence tools
• Familiarity with analysis tools; mySQL, Redshift databases, and SaaS platforms preferred.  R or Python packages are a plus
• Experience using data analysis to tell cohesive stories
• Proven record of collaborating with others on scalable data products 
• Possess a current “Police Reference Check” prior to starting employment
