Title: Project Manager / Business Analyst (PM/BA)

Position: Full-time Permanent 

Reports to: Director Strategic Projects and Business Solutions

Location: Toronto (temporarily remote due to Covid 19)

The Position  

Reporting directly to Director, Strategic Projects and Business Solutions, the project Manager Business Analyst will elicit requirements, scope projects, assess risks, anticipate challenges, before they become an issue and use best practices in technology implementation to ensure projects are moving in the right direction, delivering solutions in a timely and on budget manner.

What You'll do  

• Manage assigned projects to ensure successful completion on time and within budget
• Gather requirements to drive out the scope of assigned projects
• Develop schedules and related documentation for assigned projects
• Build and maintain lasting relationships with staff and vendor partners
• Identify risks and contingencies plans for development and launch of projects
• Ensure 3rd party services delivered are within the approved statement of work
• Deliver regular status tracking reports on assigned projects
• Maintain project management documents such as schedules, reports and budgets
• Assist with Strategic Project Portfolio Management as assigned
• Provide support for the Privacy, Security and Risk Program

What You'll Need   

• Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering or related field
• 1- 2 years’ experience as a Project Manager, Business Analyst, Project Coordinator or similar position (Project Analyst, Project Administrator) or other qualifying related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Post-undergraduate diplomas or certificates in Project Management or Business Analysis are an asset.
• Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
• Computer literate in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Slack, intermediate Internet competency and experience with project management tools. Must be willing to learn new tools
• Possess an acceptable "Vulnerable Person Sector Criminal Reference Check" prior to starting employment.

You’ll already have the following:  

• Proven success in executing projects.You have experience managing projects in the business and IT space. Teammates know they can count on you to put your best foot forward even in difficult situations, support them when required, and proactively contribute ideas, solve problems and move the project in a timely manner.
• A thirst for knowledge.A passion for learning and understanding new technologies.  You are more-than-capable of researching and troubleshooting issues on your own.

• A passion for helping others. You care deeply about the mission. You ensure work is completed in a timely manner and are able to manage more than one project at a time.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team. You have experience and capabilities to work effectively on your own to get tasks done, while still being able to build strong internal relationships and lead without supervision.
• Excellent management & human interpersonal skills. You have strong human relation skills, managing people, risk management, while being strategic in your execution and have proven experience in change management.
• Excellent communication abilities. You have the ability to take technical documentation, business requirements to communicate ideas, negotiate, and be a creative problem solver.
• Technical abilities. If you understand computer systems, networking and apps, this is considered an asset. If you do not, your willingness to learn is important.
