They cover a wide scope of services that make an impact in our community and have been recognized as one of Manitoba’s top employers 10 times.  They are now recruiting for a Director, Human Resource Services (Director, HRS) to join their compassionate and committed team.

The Director of Human Resource Services provides leadership over Recruitment, Benefits, Compensation, Labour Relations, Occupational Health, and Staffing.  As a member of the Executive Team, the Director, HRS role requires a leader who shares a deep commitment to serve and who collaborates and partners with others in the work of creating a more vibrant and healthy community. 

This role requires an HR focused people leader who will work with and guide their team to accomplish the mission and vision of St.Amant while supporting a strongly values-based culture. 


Position Overview:

  • Work in collaboration with leaders to develop overall vision and strategy for development or enhancement of services.
  • As a member of the senior management team, collaborate in identifying and contributing to matters of strategic planning, ethics, quality improvement and issues related to human resources.
  • Provide leadership in the delivery of HR services that include employee/labour relations, occupational health and safety, rewards and recognition, job evaluation, training and development and recruitment.
  • Implement HR programs to foster an environment of continuous improvement, learning, and employee engagement, leading a quality improvement culture.
  • Anticipate recruitment and workforce needs and ensures appropriate training and development.
  • Provide advice and guidance to leadership and the team on HR policies, collective agreements, and employee and labour relations developments.
  • Continue to develop, recommend, implement, and evaluate HR policies, processes, and champion HR best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education or certification in human resources, labour relations, business administration OR equivalent experience and knowledge.
  • A minimum of ten years experience as a human resources generalist with at least 5 years in a management or senior leadership capacity.
  • Experience in labor relations, collective bargaining, grievance administration and conflict mediation.
  • Experience managing diverse teams and interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Experience working effectively with staff at all levels of the organization, and other related agencies.
  • Strategic and results oriented – proven experience providing HR strategies to attract, develop and retain talent while also providing operations leadership in the delivery of HR services.
  • A collaborator by nature, engaging and soliciting ideas, dialogue, and feedback from others.
  • Strong HR management skills coupled with solid business acumen with respect for diversity and high ethical standards.

St.Amant programs include residential services within a  Health & Transition facility and a variety of services in more than 100 homes. Community based services also include: respite, a wide-range of clinical supports, and early intervention for children with autism. St.Amant has year-round school and a child care centre that primarily serves staff and is also open to the community. as well as a Research Centre affiliated with the University of Manitoba.
