The Child Development Centre of Prince George and District is one of the largest and longest serving child development charities in the province.  Each year, we help approximately 1200 children with developmental challenges, including approximately one in six of the region’s preschool children.  We assist children with their social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and communication skills using a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach.  This foundation prepares them for greater success when they enter school and unlocks wider opportunities in the years beyond.

We are currently looking for a team-oriented, hardworking, and well-organized individual to join our administrative support team.

 

Administrative Assistant – Full-Time, Permanent

 

You are friendly, detail-oriented, and highly motivated. This position includes supporting staff with their administrative needs, updating children’s charts, transcribing medical reports, answering calls, greeting the public, booking appointments, taking meeting minutes, and other duties as required.  Occasionally, other types of support will be required, such as preparing therapy materials, preparing for therapy sessions, sanitizing treatment areas, and cleaning toys and equipment.

 

You preferably have completed an Office Administration training program or another relevant discipline, have related experience, excellent general office, and computer skills. You are detail-oriented, and can type a minimum of 50 wpm, with strong communication skills, including excellent written English and proofreading skills.

Ideally, you have experience in the following:

  • working with electronic medical records and booking clients/families in a healthcare setting;
  • the use of some of the following software programs: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat Pro, MS Teams, Canva, Photoshop (or alternate graphics software), and WordPress (including Elementor);
  • providing technical support, helping staff with computer-related questions;
  • developing infographics; and social media marketing.

 

This is a unionized position.  The wage rate is $19.72 - $21.78. It comes with an excellent benefits package including extended health, dental, a defined rate pension plan, and more.

 

A valid Class 5 BC driver's license and suitable RCMP Police Information check are required.
