Position/Poste: Transferable Skills Assessor – Full-time 1 year Contract Teleworker – Western Canada
  • Conduct Transferable Skills Analysis as a Canadian Certified Vocational Evaluator (CCVE), Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Professional (CVRP), and/or Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP), or under the direct supervision of a CCVE/CVRP/RRP while working towards these credentials
  • Determine appropriate vocational options within the parameters identified by the referral source, i.e. approximating a particular pre-accident/injury wage, considering potential for re-training, and meeting expectations based on the client’s education and work experience
  • Obtain the most up to date labour market information; maintain/develop expertise and skills in transferable skills analysis, as well as knowledge regarding disability and vocational rehabilitation
  • Provide rationale for realistic job goals in the current labour market and educate stakeholders regarding current/future levels of labour market demand in relevant industries/sectors
  • Other duties assigned may include providing administrative support to the Employment Services Rehabilitation Programs portfolio such as:
          -Respond to enquiries, schedule appointments and assist with the coordination of staff
          -Liaise with consultants
          -Generate invoices and billing worksheets
          -Keep record of referrals, services and expenses
          -Maintain trackers and input data for statistics purposes
          -Upload reports on secure web systems
          -Organize and set up files
          -Edit, scan, and copy documents
Qualifications/Compétences requises:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Social Sciences, Psychology, Training and/or experience with vocational rehabilitation and psychometric testing is preferred.
  • Experience with adults with disabilities is an asset
  • Interviewing and counselling skills are beneficial
  • Effective written (report writing) and verbal communication
  • Accurate record keeping and strong organization skills
  • Attention to details as well as ability to problem solve
  • Ability to communicate professionally with clients, referring agencies and staff in person
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight timelines
  • Possess effective computer skills to create and edit Word, Excel and PDF documents
  • Excellent e-mail operation and using a calendar to schedule appointments
  • Must have accountability and willingness to take initiative
  • Eligibility to and commitment to actively working towards applying for registration at the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals, obtaining the Canadian Certified Vocational Evaluator credential, as well as acquiring membership at the Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada
  • Successful candidate will be required to undergo Personnel Security Screening which may include criminal record check, finger printing, and verification of Canadian citizenship
