The Property Management Coordinator will work closely with the Housing Manager to help manage the day to day operations and liaise with our tenants. Will also give assistance and direction on all property management issues, policies, procedures and plans for the Affordable Housing Tower.  The Property Management Coordinator ensures the Tower operates in a drug-and-alcohol-free, safe, clean, secure and healthy living environment in accordance with best industry and management practices.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate regularly with TMS tenants on issues affecting the property;
  • Arrange interviews with prospective tenants;
  • Schedule move in and move outs as required;
  • Communicate accurate rentable space and market all vacancies with Resident Support;
  • Ensure acceptable living standards are maintained in the Tower and that they operate within Mustard Seed policy;
  • Ensuring the Tower is properly maintained and comply with codes, municipal bylaws and tenancy license standards;
  • Overseeing Tenant Management, as per Permanent Supporting Housing Tenancy Act and The Mustard Seed policies;
  • Ensuring systems and procedures are in place to support all of the above;
  • Tracking statistics and prepare reports as required;
  • Other duties as required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Accreditation: CPM or ARM preferred;
  • A passion to be part of ending homelessness in Alberta;
  • Understanding of homelessness and desire to work with marginalized individuals;
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in property management;
  • Experience in managing budgets and contracts;
  • Organized with strong administrative, writing, documentation and computing skills;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a cross functional team;
  • Strong work ethic, naturally takes initiatives;
  • Minimum class 5 Drivers License with clean driver’s abstract.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Travel to Mustard Seed residential buildings as required. Company vehicles are available for this purpose
  • Employment Security Check is required
  • As The Mustard Seed is a Christian ministry, we require our employees to be in agreement and to sign our statement of faith
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • An Employment Background Check is required for all positions at The Mustard Seed
  • As The Mustard Seed is a Christian ministry, we require our employees to agree to respect and not detract from The Mustard Seed’s Employment Values during their employment at The Mustard Seed.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
