“I appreciate the challenge of the job around critical thinking, reflection and sometimes even strategizing to provide support to the families we work with, how to work in larger systems like Children's Services, how to advocate and empower the people we are reaching out to for the best interest of the children and youth who are our clients, and how to engage professionals an families in the process of meeting to discuss ongoing care and family connection for the children.
Using a Cree circle model and ceremony to do our work is a privilege and we are so lucky to have the opportunity to continue our growth and learning in how to incorporate a meaning and culturally relevant model for our families that can be a part of their healing path.”
