Job Responsibilities                        

Pre-screen PAR clients

Book appointments for PAR clients, re-booking of clients, & cancellation of appointments

Monitor number of clients on wait lists for PAR

Conduct Partner Checks with the partners of PAR clients

Respond to community or public inquiries & provide referrals

Respond to callers with utmost courtesy at all times

Arrange for language interpreters, as needed

Coordinate the updating & revision of Intake procedures in consultation with the Program Manager

Administer court-mandated & Ministry of Community Safety & Correctional Service referrals

Notify Counsellors of scheduled appointments

Input client data on case management software

Participate in team meetings & provide input & ideas for improving services

Contribute to team assignments & projects

Maintain the strictest confidence

Participate in the orientation & training of new employees or students 

Other relevant duties as assigned

 

Key Qualifications                           

Bachelors level degree, preferably with a specialization in social services or related field

3-5 years paid work experience in the VAW sector

Experience working with women & men who have experienced abuse

Excellent customer service & interpersonal skills

Training in office administration

Knowledge of, & experience with, crisis intervention & de-escalation

Experience working with staff & clients from diverse backgrounds

Understanding of issues pertaining to violence & its impacts

Additional language(s) an asset

Strong organization skills, multi-tasking abilities & detail orientation

Familiarity with social services within the Peel Region

Superior written & oral command of the English language

Computer competency (i.e. MS Word, Excel, & various databases)

Ability to work from home, consisting of a safe & private home office setting & the necessary technical equipment & high-speed Internet access for remote work

Familiarity with virtual work platforms

Knowledge of computer systems hardware & software, as well as other office equipment such as fax, photocopier, etc.

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Team player

A valid Ontario driver’s license, appropriate insurance & regular access to a reliable vehicle

Flexibility to work day, evening & week-end hours as required

Ability to work in various locations throughout Peel

Other relevant duties as assigned
