An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Manager, Animal Centre Services to manage the BC SPCA’s busy North Cariboo & District Shelter in Prince George. This temporary full-time position is for approximately 2-3 months. Reporting to the Regional Manager this position is accountable for the management and coordination of shelter staff, volunteers, and activities. As Manager, Animal Centre Services you will promote the BC SPCA’s mission and implement provincial initiatives within the shelter and surrounding community, lead local fund-raising efforts and promote the shelter through various community events, literature, and media.
You will ensure the operating budget of the shelter is adhered to and provide overall optimum care for the animals within the shelter’s area of responsibility. You are also responsible for the health and safety of shelter staff and volunteers as well as maintaining a clean and safe environment for the public.
You will use your strong management skills to lead a team of dedicated staff and foster a positive work environment. You will have a hands-on approach and always believes in the highest standards of care and welfare for animals. At the BC SPCA, you will engage with committed colleagues in your community who are motivated to continuously improve the lives of animals.
