Family Services of Peel (FSP) is a progressive, multi-service Agency offering a dynamic work environment & culture. Peel has a highly diverse & rapidly growing population of more than one million people & includes Mississauga, Brampton & Caledon. Applications are currently being accepted for a full-time Director of Client Services. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Client Services develops & manages all Agency programs. This position facilitates the delivery of high quality services that meet the needs of clients, follows the directives of funders, & achieves the goals & objectives of the Agency. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Director of Client Services participates in planning & decision-making for the Agency.

Responsibilities:              

  • Ensures that client services programs are designed to reduce barriers to access for equity seeking groups
  • Creates mechanisms for active staff involvement to identify gaps in service & set priorities
  • Creates & implements evaluation methods to continuously monitor & enhance programs
  • Works to strengthen program sustainability, service expansion, collaboration & innovation in service delivery
  • Ensures policies & procedures are developed, reviewed & maintained
  • Ensures that Managers are developing & operationalizing policies & procedures which support organizational goals & objectives & are compliant with relevant legislation
  • Prepares annual service plans & related funding or contract submissions
  • Ensures that funder requirements & program goals are met
  • Represents the Agency with relevant organizations or committees as designated by the Executive Director 
  • Develops, coordinates & oversees staff’s purposeful involvement with community partnerships & at key community & Agency committees
  • Fosters & maintains strong relationships with existing & potential funders
  • Leads the development of proposals & presentations
  • Leads the development of innovative pilot projects & oversees implementation
  • Identifies & pursues opportunities for partnership to address community needs
  • Informs policy makers of community needs
  • Recruits, trains & manages employees including performance management, performance appraisals, & skills development
  • Monitors work distribution & ensures that direct reports are meeting the expectations of their positions
  • Works collaboratively with direct reports to identify & implement professional development activities which support individual & organizational objectives.
  • Reviews processes continuously to ensure efficiency
  • Ensures appropriate cross-training & coverage is in place to meet service demands
  • Works collaboratively with the Senior Management Team to develop the Agency’s budget
  • Ensures that programs are effectively utilizing their budgets to meet program goals & objectives, as well as funder requirements
  • Ensures that staff comply with the Agency’s finance & administration policies & procedures
  • Reviews financial statements with direct reports monthly, identifies variances & develops & implements action plan to address variances
  • Reviews financial statements with the Executive Director monthly, reports on variances & provides an action plan to address variances
  • Responds to funder requests regarding utilization of funding & service statistics
  • As a member of the Senior Management Team, works collaboratively with Senior Team members in decision-making & setting of organizational goals & objectives
  • Contributes to the development & achievement of the organization’s strategic plan
  • Ensures that client service operations incorporate strategic planning directions as well as organizational goals & objectives
  • Collects & analyzes statistical information & prepares reports for organizational decision making
  • Acts a staff lead for the Quality Services Committee, a committee of the Board of Directors
  • Contributes to Agency projects & supports Board/Management decisions & strategies
  • Conducts all activities within the Agency standards & policies & required legislation

               

Qualifications:

  • A Masters degree in a related field including membership in the relevant professional association
  • 10 years of progressive management of service development & delivery for a not-for-profit organization
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple services & the development of new service needs
  • Demonstrated experience with budget & human resource management
  • Demonstrated knowledge & experience in developing strong quality management systems & practices including a continuous quality improvement approach
  • Current knowledge of relevant legislation & regulations including the privacy act
  • Experience managing in a unionized environment an asset
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, & Accounting Software
  • Demonstrated efforts for continuous learning & development
  • Additional languages(s) an asset
