The VP, Operations is responsible for the leadership and oversight of the delivery of NCC’s programs and operations across Canada. As a member of the Executive Management Group (EMG), the VP will be a key influencer in setting the overall strategic direction of the organization, providing an operational perspective that reflects Canada’s regional diversity. As a change agent, the VP, Operations will be instrumental to scaling NCC’s operations, significantly growing its ability to deliver more conservation projects that benefit biodiversity and mitigate climate change. This redefined role is uniquely positioned to guide and enable teams across the country to deliver on NCC’s Strategic Plan consistently, efficiently, and optimally. It will promote alignment, capacity-building and innovation while supporting a culture of transparency, accountability, and empowerment.
Reporting to the President and CEO, the VP, Operations will work closely with senior national staff and will lead a team of 7 Regional Vice Presidents across Canada (Atlantic, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and BC) that oversees 210 regional staff, with an estimated budget of $75M. In addition, the VP will directly oversee a dedicated operational support team of 6 FTE in the area of projects delivery through land acquisition, land stewardship activities, land use management and other regional programs. The VP will also support the National Board’s Regional Chairs Committee as well as provide guidance and support, when needed, to regional boards.
