About Mission Possible

Mission Possible is a non-profit organization and social enterprise located in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. We support individuals challenged by homelessness, poverty, addiction, mental illness, and other barriers to employment to achieve a renewed sense of dignity and purpose through meaningful work. Through our Employment Readiness Program, and our social enterprises, MP Maintenance & MP Neighbours, we equip our program participants with the skills, confidence, and support they need to rejoin the workforce and rebuild a self-sustaining livelihood for themselves.

Position Type

  • Permanent full time, 40 hrs/wk
  • 8 hr/shift
  • Weekend work required

Qualifications:

  • The ability to work well under minimal supervision
  • The capacity to take direction
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The physical capability of lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds as necessary
  • Completion of OFA1 first aid, Narcan and non-crisis intervention training
  • Class 5 Driver’s licence with driving experience and a clean driver’s abstract

Duties:

  • Be fully accountable to and work to support the activities of the MP Maintenance Teams
  • Disinfect all door handles. switch plates & covers, faucets and toilet/urinal handles,
  • Use a toilet cleaner with a brush to clean all toilet/urinal bowls, rims & seats
  • Use a glass cleaner to clean mirrors
  • Use a cleanser to clean sinks
  • Wipe down vanity tops with disinfectant
  • Sweep then mop all floors
  • Collect and dispose of all garbage onsite
  • Replenish consumable supplies
  • Wipe down any walls and stall doors where dirty and disinfect as needed
  • Ensure services are being delivered with quality assurance
  • Communicate with customers as needed
  • Ensure all equipment and vehicles are being properly cared for and maintained
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor
