The Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto (CCAS) is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to enhance our capacity to provide psychological services to a range of clinical programs that serve children and youth. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the successful candidate will coordinate the provision of psychological assessments, translate results into treatment recommendations, provide case consultation to clinical and service teams, and support professional development of clinical and service staff. The children and youth served at CCAS are typically experiencing emotional, behavioral and/or psychological difficulties, and have varied and complex presentations that may include trauma, multiple placements, family conflict, and/or challenges in school and in the community. The successful candidate will have the ability to provide service to children of all ages and their families.

· To recruit, select and maintain a roster of external psychologists with knowledge and skills appropriate to the needs of the Society, to provide psychological assessments for children and youth in the Society’s care;
· To review internal referrals for psychological assessments to determine nature, suitability and appropriate consultant for each request, and assign requests;
· To monitor service to completion and to ensure adherence to professional standards;
· To review referrals for other related assessments for children and young people in care;
· To ensure the provision of adequate follow-up services including interpretation of psychological reports;
· To provide professional expertise and to act as a resource to the Society and its staff in the area of psychology including attending case conferences to discuss assessment results, treatment needs and placement planning for children and youth;
· To provide consultation to specific programs within the Society;
· To participate in internal training sessions and workshops to provide information to Society staff on the use of psychological services and professional training on related clinical issues;
· To contribute to the formulation of Society policies and procedures and the development of service planning to ensure adequate services within budgetary requirements and/or restraints;
· Other duties as assigned.
· PhD in Clinical Psychology
· Registered member in good standing in the area of Clinical Psychology (children and adolescents) with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
· 3 to 5 years’ experience completing psychological assessments of children and adolescents (birth to 18) including administration, evaluation and interpretation of tests, interviewing, observation, communication of assessment results and recommendations to a variety of professionals
· Extensive knowledge about the assessment and treatment of individuals with a history of developmental trauma and attachment disruptions
· Excellent clinical knowledge and understanding of child psychology, child development and needs, family therapy, as well as a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as CBT, TF-CBT (and other trauma-informed practices), DBT, and Attachment and Relational therapies such as DDP
· Ability to interpret assessment results, provide recommendations and provide input into case planning of children and youth with other professionals within a multi-disciplinary setting
· Detailed knowledge of the ethics and standards of the College of Psychologists of Ontario and the Child, Youth and Family Services Act and other relevant legislative requirements
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to prepare reports, policy and program recommendations
· Excellent interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with individuals and groups from a variety of diverse communities and to resolve conflict in an effective manner
· Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to integrating the principles of equity, justice, non-discrimination and accessibility into practice, service delivery and relationships
· Sound judgment, sensitivity, flexibility and initiative for engaging and working with children, youth, families, individuals, groups and colleagues
· Ability to work independently and as a member of the multi-disciplinary team
· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple service providers in coordinating and planning services
· Excellent administrative and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
· Keyboarding skills and working knowledge of relevant software and virtual platforms is required (e.g. Microsoft Word, Outlook, Office 365, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, Zoom)
· A second language would be an asset
· Experience working in the child welfare field would be an asset
· A satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
