Position Summary

Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with Urban Ink staff, the Operations Manager is responsible for managing our office and assisting with administrative duties including but not limited to:

  • Office Management and Administration: Administrative support to staff and board, supporting onboarding and orientation, office reception, information and file management, coordinating software and communication tools.
  • Fund Development: Database management, individual giving administration and support, assisting with campaigns and reports.
  • Financial Management: Bookkeeping preparation, managing invoices and payables, assisting with audit preparation, bank runs.
  • Grants: Grant writing, research and assisting with applications.

About You

You're an administrative professional, a creative problem solver with strong communication skills and a love for details. You have experience working in an administrative capacity with some focus on fundraising and database management.

The ideal candidate will be someone with openness, respect, and commitment to decolonizing and Indigenized practices. Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely in oral and written form; to understand and carry out complex verbal or written instructions;
  • Excellent problem-solving and multi-tasking skills;
  • Able to work with a team or independently;
  • Highly organized with close attention to detail;
  • Ability to interact tactfully and confidentially;
  • Sound working knowledge of databases, MS Office suite, and Google Workspace suite;
  • Committed to supporting a team focused on indigenizing and decolonizing practices will be considered an asset.

Please note that this position typically works from our office space located in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Although we have COVID work from home policies in place now, this position will have to travel, from time to time, to and from our offices to check the mail or follow up in person on other admin-related tasks.

Start date: June 14, 2021. (12 month term with a possibility of extension upon mutual agreement)

Salary/Benefits: $28,000 annually plus health and dental benefits after 3 months.

Hours: Temporary Part-time, 22.5 hours per week M-F.
