DASCH Inc. is seeking an engaging and motivated Human Resources Manager to join their team.

DASCH is a non-profit organization established in 1974 dedicated to exploring and meeting the residential, day program, respite and foster care needs of youth and adults with intellectual disabilities and challenges. We support people living in over 50 homes and 4-day programs throughout Winnipeg. Under the direction of the Chief People Officer within the People Resources Department, the Human Resources Manager is accountable for the supervision of Human Resources staff as well as provision of accurate and timely human resource management advice and consultancy services to managers and field supervisors. The Human Resources Manager will apply human resource policy and undertake human resource projects where appropriate.

The ideal candidate will be someone who can evaluate HR practices at the 20,000-foot level with a keen eye for improvement, and impeccable judgement and decision making within a diverse workplace. The successful individual will also be responsible for the maintenance of all HR policies and standard operating procedures to update or renew as required; assist with the development and delivery of appropriate feedback and labour relations; support employee opportunities for professional development; and apply workplace resolution skills to successfully mediate workplace conflict issues.

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources
  • Minimum of 5 years’ Human Resources experience with a wide range of knowledge in all aspects of human resources
  • Minimum 3 years’ previous supervisory/managerial experience
  • CPHR designation or in the process of obtaining the designation preferred
  • Knowledge of employment law, performance review programs and progressive counseling
  • Hands-on experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) or Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS)
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required
  • Experience with SharePoint an asset
  • Ability to communicate passionately, effectively and persuasively across a diverse set of stakeholders and to facilitate effective communication both internally and externally
  • Ability to motivate and inspire positive performance
  • Ability to problem-solve and remove barriers in complex situations, and ability to find innovative solutions
