RYGIEL Supports for Community Living is currently recruiting a Permanent, Manager, People & Culture.

 

RYGIEL Supports for Community Living serves people who have a developmental disability and multiple handicaps.  The services are determined by a person’s individual needs and are designed to enable each person to be a fulfilled participatory member of the community.

Responsibility Overview

 

As a member of the leadership team, the Manager, People & Culture will lead the human resources department of the agency in a way that will continually strengthen the health of the organization and contribute to realizing the vision through effective human resources programs and services. A facilitative leader ,you will integrate a diversity, inclusion, and equity lens across our organizational strategies bringing a balanced approach needed to foster adaptive leaders capable of handling the needs for employee wellness and human resource management.

 

A coach and hands-on Human Resources leader you will be responsible for delivering professional and superior customer service by partnering the our team to support HR matters, including talent management program, labour and team member relation issue, interpretation of HR policies and procedures, collective agreements, employment legislation, grievance and arbitration management, performance management, workforce planning, compensation, W.S.I.B. management, Health and Safety practices, benefits, retirement and pension plans.

 

Responsibility Overview

 

  • Contribute to the implementation of Rygiel’s mission, vision and strategic plans, particularly where related to the People & Culture.
  • Lead and provide guidance to in all aspects of performance management and compensation planning.
  • Provide strategic guidance to the business by partnering in the development of a talent management strategy including full-cycle recruitment, on-boarding, succession planning, performance development and coaching.
  • Represent Rygiel in the community activity participating in the development sector community to share best practices.
  • Provide guidance on Health and Safety, WSIB/ Non-Occupational and Disability Management including the development and continuous improvement of programs, and key initiatives.
  • Manage all aspects of collective bargaining.
  • Foster a culture of transparent communication to facilitate the change management process.
  • Consult and provide support with corrective actions, employment or labour relations investigations and compensation management.
  • Lead the workforce planning to support staffing levels.

 

Education, Designations and Experience

 

  • University Degree combined with a post graduate certificate in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of Human Resources experience with CHRP designation.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Strong demonstration of ability to consult, influence and partner with staff in developing and/or executing people strategies to drive business performance.
  • Working knowledge of Labour and Canadian employment laws, current HR practices and the ability to use knowledge proactively in consulting with clients.
  • Ability to anticipate changes required within the organization and to drive such changes the partnership with business leaders.
  • Strong facilitation skills to train virtually and in person for both management and leadership audience.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement, discretion and initiative in dealing with confidential information and/or in responding to inquiries.

 

Skill Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving skills coupled with the initiative to seek out answers and overcome obstacles
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, manage competing demands and develop realistic action plans
  • Excellent follow-up and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess both a current driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance
  • A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required upon the start of your employment
  • A valid driver’s license and use of personal vehicle is required
  • A vulnerable Sector Search Registry Check may be required
  • The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required
