Scheduled Days & Hours Each Week: Various models, upwards of 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, live in supports. For the Wage - this is variable, depending on the referral.

We are looking for Support Home Care providers in Edmonton & area, Alberta.

In Your Role You Will
We offer an extensive orientation process that ensures you are prepared, and once you join us, we will have support available to you 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. In this role, you can also access additional training opportunities to further develop your skills in providing assistance to others in need. Our model of providing specialized residential care is to provide supports to persons with developmental challenges.

WJS is looking for people that are dedicated to delivering supports in and out of their homes, and want to make a difference to persons living with developmental disabilities.

Contract amount is compensatory and will be discussed once initial screening is completed.

*** Prior to confirmation of employment all applicants must provide a current (dated within 6 months of hiring date) Criminal Record Check and Ministry Check. These checks can take up to 6 weeks to obtain, please ensure you prepare accordingly.

As An Ideal Candidate You Possess

• Prior professional and/or personal life experience with individuals with a developmental disability
• Prior experience in trauma informed care is an asset
• Prefer single person or older couple.
• Valid CPR/First Aid certificate (or will obtain prior to contracting)
• Valid Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certificate
• Current Conflict Resolution training

Suitability of the applicant will be determined through a rigorous screening process based on an agency interview and a screening by the supported individuals (and any persons in the home), reference checks, submission of required documentation (including criminal record search by local police, vulnerable sector check, current first aid certification, immunization records and a medical fitness confirmation).
