canada summer jobs / summer students  •  $18.00 per hour + 10.6% in lieu of vacation and stat holidays, 35 hour work week, 8 week contract

Canada Summer Jobs funding received to hire an individual as follows:

 

(a) is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment - May 10, 2021

 

(b) is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Act*, and

 

(c) is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

 

*International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.

 

You must fall into the above category to be eligible for hire.

 

The position is Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4 pm working from an office located at 15th & Granville in Vancouver. We are practicing social distancing and have appropriate measures in place to support the Medical Health Officer directives.

 

Must speak English, ability to speak Cantonese &/or Mandarin required.  Ability to read Cantonese &/or Mandarin preferable.

 

You will be:  working with the Meals on Wheels Service Coordinators, the Chinese Program Director for Meals on Wheels and the Volunteer Coordinators to focus on marketing strategies and the challenges for our Meals on Wheels programs for recruitment and retention of volunteers. Learning about our programs, services and internal processes to schedule and deliver meals to our clients. Interact with our Communications and Marketing personnel to effectively answer questions about our programs, roles of volunteers, fundraising and marketing initiatives. Learn and use our database program for collecting information to schedule meal deliveries and schedule volunteers. Communicate with volunteers to assist in a variety of initiatives which may include placement, orientation, ongoing role, etc.

 

Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a safe, reliable vehicle required.  Ability to provide satisfactory criminal record check required.  Post- secondary education preferable.
