WHAT WE DO

We conduct Labour Market Research to provide insights for our partners into workforce availability. We deliver wage subsidies and facilitate career placement opportunities to help employers reduce the risk of hiring and allow biotechnology workers access to unique opportunities in their field. We provide job search and candidate search tools to connect employers with talent, and we provide professional development opportunities for workers to develop the skills they need to support Canada’s bio-economy. We are currently looking for a talented Business Development Coordinator to join our team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As the Business Development Coordinator, you will actively build relationships to generate interest in BioTalent Canada’s partnership opportunities, products and services. Reporting to the Manager, Business Development, you will ensure alignment with BioTalent Canada’s current Partnership program and product and service offerings.

The position is target-focused with revenue generation expectations and milestones.

The organization has a current partner complement of approximately 70 small and large companies and associations from within and outside the biotechnology industry. The Business Development Coordinator will be charged with mostly inside lead generations and sales, closing dozens of new sales per year and helping maintain a high partner retention rate among existing clients.

 

In this role you can expect to:

  • Inside sales of BioTalent Canada products and services to new and existing partners, clients and stakeholders
  • Create and implement sales strategies and identify new markets to enter
  • Conduct market research, lead generation, and prospect new potential consumers of BioTalent Canada`s Products and Services
  • Research, cold-call outside leads and follow up on inside leads, to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers via email, phone, and web-conferences
  • Participate in client events, meetings, appointments, and conferences when appropriate
  • Assist with the research and preparation of background information for prospective partners
  • Develop and advance private sector relationships with industry leaders, academic institutions and other potential partners
  • Collaborate with internal marketing professionals to ensure appropriate BioTalent Canada branding in all external communications
  • Create and maintain contact and organization details in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Track submitted proposals and provide feedback and regular updates to the Business Development Manager
  • Provide administrative support when required
  • Perform other sales-related activities as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Being an affable team player with an outstanding sense of humour who excels working with a team of high performers is essential
  • 2 years of demonstrated experience in a direct sales capacity is essential
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field or equivalent in experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Established interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, CRM experience preferred
  • Bilingualism is a very strong asset - French and English
