Child Development Institute (CDI) is a leading children’s mental health agency in the City of Toronto offering a range of services to approximately 3,500 children ages 0‐12, youth ages 13-18 and their families each year. Our mission is to promote and support the healthy development of children and to strengthen the families and communities in which they live. We provide four streams of service to families in need: early intervention, family violence, healthy child development and specialized mental health services for children and youth with learning disabilities.



Child Development Institute is seeking a knowledgeable and competent Registered Early Childhood Educator for Supply Work. This position reports to the Early Learning Centre Director.



  1. Continue to maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment for children.
  2. Maintain an engaging learning experience already established by the regular RECE.
  3. Guide behaviour in a positive and supportive manner.
  4. Good verbal and written skills.
  5. Communicates effectively and professionally with staff and parents.
  6. Understanding of the Ministry of Education-Child Care and Early Years Act, Toronto Children’s Services- Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI) and Toronto Public Health requirements.
  7. Understanding of Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years- How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH).


  • Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree.
  • Registration in good standing at the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Prior experience would be an asset.
  • Standard First Aid Certificate and Infant/Child CPR.
  • Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check (successful candidate only).

COMPENSATION:         $18.00 (Hourly)
