About the Position:

The Settlement Best Practices Coordinator supports the Immigration Settlement and Integration Program (ISIP). The Settlement Best Practices Coordinator is responsible for researching current information relating to immigration/settlement best practice approaches and coordinating the development of related front line worker training and service protocols.  This position also assists with the collection and analysis of programming data and the development / implementation of systems to assist with contract management.


Reports to: Program Director


Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Researches and prepares information on best practices and core competencies to strengthen program delivery in specialized areas
  • Assists with the development and implementation of service protocols on specialized topics
  • Assists with the development of and coordinates core and additional training including training evaluations across regions
  • Researches /prepares information relating to immigration and settlement trends in BC and Canada
  • Collects, collates and assists with the reporting of programming data
  • Coordinates, organises and assists with the development and implementation of best practices relating to contract managers
  • Assists with the coordination and implementation of small research projects
  • Assists with the write-up and preparing presentation of results.
  • Performs other related duties as required by the ISIP Program Director

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Social or Human Sciences or equivalent
  • Experience working with multicultural and diverse coworkers and clients
  • Minimum of 1 year of coordination/management experience
  • Excellent knowledge of settlement service delivery models and terminology

Job Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; second language an asset
  • Good understanding of adult education methodologies
  • Good critical and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to understand contract management systems
  • Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization and administrative skills
  • Ability to handle concurrent assignments and meet tight deadlines.
  • Able to work independently and within a team context

Other Requirements:

  • Criminal Record Check Required
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Able to work at multiple locations in Greater Vancouver as required
