Job Title: Intervenor
A valid drivers license
Education: post-secondary education in the social field or equivalent
Experience: Job Related
Communication: Oral and written english skills and the ability to learn the philosophy of
total communication sign language
Police Check – requirement of The Ministry of Community, Family and Children Services.
High energy, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, lifting, leisure activity participation, small motor activity (hand over hand activity) sight (leading guide)
Initiative and ingenuity, tolerance, good judgement, decision-making, motivation.
Work in an apartment setting and in the community at large with adults with deafblindness, may be exposed to physical abuse.
To provide intervention to adults who are deaflblind in a community apartment setting under the supervision of the Program Director and Supervisors.
To provide intervention to individuals with deafblindness according to program, plan, schedule, and staffing needs.
To provide sufficient non-distorted information: motivation, and the degree of
support necessary for the individual to be successful in established programs.
Properly record all documentation required during your shift

To work in an apartment setting assisting with all life skills: meal preparation, cleaning, hygiene, personal shopping, grocery shopping
Assisting individuals to use the community at large: for recreation and leisure,
employment, health needs, personal shopping
To be an integral part of the teams within the group home.
