Position:                    Research and Evaluation Coordinator

Reports to:                 Manager, Program Development and Accountability

EMCN has been supporting newcomers of all ages and families, including refugees, skilled immigrants, refugee claimants, and citizens since 1981. Each year, we serve newcomers from more than 100 countries of origin, and offer services in over 30 languages.

Job Purpose:

Program evaluation is integral to ensuring our clients receive the most appropriate services to thrive as they settle into the Edmonton community. The Research and Evaluation Coordinator supports EMCN’s programs and services by working with program staff and public and private partners to renew our data collection and management infrastructure. This position leads adaptive management through continuous learning throughout the agency and across the sector by conducting program evaluations, supporting informed program changes, and partnering with other non-profit organizations. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with program staff to develop and implement program evaluation plans and write reports.
  • Lead change processes for data management and evaluation across EMCN through staff training and other required efforts.
  • Database project management: support securing funding for database development, work closely with the contractor and program staff to integrate program needs into the database, implement the new database and report to funders.
  • Conduct agency-wide evaluation and knowledge dissemination by collecting client feedback, developing reports and sharing results with staff and the community in easily digestible ways.
  • Vet and lead agency research partnerships and other ad hoc initiatives.
  • Build and maintain sector-wide learning and partnerships through cross-sector evaluation tables and settlement-specific partnerships.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Science or related field with research experience
  • Solid experience conducting program evaluation.
  • Experience writing grants proposals and reports.
  • Experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience with non-profit client information management systems.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Salary Range: $64,195 - $70,148/year

Benefits: Medical, Dental, Long Term Disability, AD&D, RRSP match up to 3% after 3 months of employment
