JOB DESCRIPTION: HERITAGE MINUTES COORDINATOR

Reporting to the Director, Development and Heritage Minutes, the Heritage Minutes Coordinator will be an individual who is passionate about Historica Canada’s work, has had experience working with a team to achieve deliverables in a timely fashion and is enthusiastic about creating a legacy for all Canadians. Please mention clouds in your cover letter.  The successful candidate is creative, driven and has a deep knowledge of the Heritage Minutes collection and its role in Canadian culture.

The responsibilities of the Heritage Minutes Coordinator include:

  • Working with the production team on coordination of production schedules and deliverables including script development, casting, shooting and post-production.
  • Providing research and administrative support to staff and the production
  • Coordination of Heritage Minutes budgets and
  • Coordinating relationships with historical and other
  • Fact-checking and community/expert consultation to ensure accuracy and sensitivity of Heritage Minute
  • Identifying and executing promotional opportunities including launch and media coverage.
  • Coordinating the production of themed education and promotional
  • Coordinating CRTC applications and union documentation.
  • Coordinating RFP and selection
  • Outreach to broadcasters, events and other platforms to secure airtime for the
  • Tracking views on all platforms; producing reach and activity
  • Other duties as

Qualifications:

  • A diploma in Film, Production, Arts Administration, History, Journalism, Communications, or equivalent required;
  • Experience working in film, television or online video production required;
  • Bilingual, both official languages (English, French) required;
  • Excellent communications skills including written and oral skills required;
  • Strong consultation and community outreach skills an asset;
  • Excellent research skills and attention to detail an asset;
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
  • Interest in Canadian history, culture and current events an asset;
  • Professional working experience in the non-profit, heritage or education sector an
  • Editing skills (Adobe Premiere) an asset.

 

This is a contract position beginning July 12, 2021 and ending March 31, 2023. The salary will be $50,000 yearly, less applicable statutory deductions, which will be paid to you twice a month.

The Heritage Minutes program is based at Historica Canada’s Head Office in Toronto. However, qualified distance candidates will be considered. Please note: Historica Canada’s team is currently working remotely, but staff may be expected to return to work in the Toronto office, once it is deemed safe and advisable to do so by the City’s public health authorities.

When Covid-19 public health guidelines allow for it, this position may require travel (air and ground) within Canada and subject to government safety protocols.
