The WorkLink Employment Society is recruiting a part-time Accounting Support Specialist.

This position works 20 hours per week in our Jacklin Road office located in the Westshore. This is a term position to the end of our existing WorkBC Contract (March 31, 2024, with possible 1-year extension), at a pay rate between range of $22.68 to $24.17 per hour.

 

About the Position:

The Accounting Support Specialist works as a member of the financial administration team under the direct supervision of the Director of Finance. In addition, the Accounting Support Specialist works closely with the quality assurance team to ensure all data entry and financial tracking meet funder requirements and standards.

 

The Accounting Support Specialist’s main responsibilities include:

 

Financial Services:

  • Assist in the reconciliation of various accounts (living supports, transportation, tuition, etc.) on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in the maintenance of complete financial records and client financial documentation including regular filing.
  • Enter data into the Integrated Case Management System (ICM) and scan and upload supporting documentation as necessary.
  • Reconcile bank statement and Master Card accounts monthly.
  • Assist in the day-to-day financial accounting processes and application.
  • Support the completion of employee payroll, client supports, and accounts receivable/payable.
  • Act as a backup for the Finance Department Specialist during absences.

Key Departmental Deliverables:

Team members ensure all service delivery channels are utilized in their roles and collectively, undertake the following departmental objectives:

  • Actively use accounting/in-house tracking systems to extract data for monthly reports/specific projects for the department
  • Develop reporting tools to assist management in budgeting analysis and verify data collection methods
  • Support the client service delivery team in the administrative use of accounting and receipt collection

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with basic accounting responsibilities; accounts payable, accounts receivable
  • Knowledge and experience with Excel and accounting software
  • Ability to work as a team and within deadlines
