MIGRANT WORKER PROJECT COORDINATOR
Position: Migrant Worker Project Coordinator
Purpose: The purpose of the Building Capacity to Support BC’s Migrant Worker’s project is to provide information, tools and resources to organizations including Settlement Service Provider Organizations (SPOs) with knowledge of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) in order to provide accurate information to Migrant Workers in BC. The goal of the program is to provide frontline workers supporting Migrant Workers with practical, culturally inclusive learning tools and information materials. All capacity building activities are infused with innovative approaches and are based on AMSSA’s values of inclusiveness, integrity and collaboration. The Migrant Worker Project Coordinator will work closely with the Migrant Worker Project Assistant.
Reports to: Settlement and Integration Program Manager
Hours & location: 35 hours per week – combination of working from home and working from AMSSA’s office location at 4445 Norfolk Street, Burnaby, BC
Salary: $30.76/hour – eligible for benefits after three months
Classification: Full-Time Contract ; July 1, 2021 – December 15, 2021 with the possibility of an extension pending funding

Develops Communications Material
Researches and develops information materials on specialized topic areas relating to the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP).
Ensures all Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) support programing activities are aligned with AMSSA program goals, objectives and policies
Writes the content of information resources in a variety of formats including information bulletins, best practice toolkits, reports, online communication tools, and information sheets.
Develops written materials with a style and focus that is suited to a broad variety of stakeholders.
With the Settlement and Integration Program Manager and/or the advisory committee members ensures that programming activities meet the needs of organizations supporting migrant workers.
Develops, reviews and/or writes and distributes contract and event reports for review by the Settlement and Integration Program Manager
Develops the content, secures guest speakers and oversees all event logistics for in-person events as well as webinars, including booking venues, communicating with participants, overseeing preparation of event packages and documents and preparing production schedules
Uses evaluations and interaction with sector to generate content for convening, information sharing, and networking activities.
Work with the Settlement and Integration Program Manager on special projects as required.
Provides administrative assistance to committees as needed, including the development of reports.
University degree (graduate or undergraduate degree) in a relevant discipline, 3-5 years of experience; or a combination of education, training, and experience that is relevant to the field of work.
Knowledge of settlement and integration needs for Temporary Foreign Workers in BC
Demonstrated experience in project planning and management
Well-developed organizing and administrative skills
Demonstrated experience working with Committees and group facilitation;
Demonstrated experience in communication-related tasks;
Experience in participating on committees and in meetings, conferences, and events
Experience in writing funder reports
Experience in event planning
Experience working with webinar platforms
Detail oriented, highly organized and able to respond quickly to new or changing work demands.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent active listening, interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent time and resource management techniques
Experience in curriculum development an asset
Experience working with Moodle an asset
Computer literacy – Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, database management tools
