Evaluation Lead

HIV Edmonton is an inclusive and dynamic community-based charitable organization devoted to ZERO; zero new HIV transmissions, zero stigma and discrimination and zero AIDS related deaths.
The Evaluation Lead oversees the full compliment of evaluative needs for HIV Edmonton. This position collaborates with external contractors, agency staff program participants, funders and community partners to ensure enhanced evaluation and reporting capacity within all levels of the organization telling the story of HIV Edmonton’s work and impact.
Responsibilities include:
 Qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis conducted with awareness of evidence-based best practices while also honouring and centering other ways of knowing (Indigenous, racialized or marginalized world views).
 Significantly contributes to the writing of grant reports, briefing notes or position papers.
 Conducts sector research and evidence collection for grants.
 Ensures sustainability of programming through on-going capacity building within the organization.
 Develops and/or updates evaluation tools.
 Recommends improvements to internal database management system to best capture data accurately.
Qualifications
 Degree or Diploma; at least 5 years of related evaluation experience preferably in a non-profit setting.
 A combination of education and experience may be considered. A professional designation is an asset.
 Excellent working knowledge of evaluation techniques (impact, process, outcome, etc).
 Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks.
 Good leadership and written communication skills.
 Demonstrated initiative and a value-added approach.
 Competency in computer software/databases including Canfit would be an asset.
