We are a community-based, not-for profit organization with approximately 80 social services programs and 420 employees across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. We provide counselling and other essential services to the most vulnerable people in our communities. HERE’S WHAT WE CAN DO TOGETHER:

Working within the mission, vision, values and person-centred philosophy of the Agency, the Marketing Assistant will provide support to the Marketing & Communications team at Family Services of Greater Vancouver. Projects will include campaign/creative development, social media execution/maintenance and web design/maintenance.

WHAT YOU BRING:

The Marketing Assistant is a valued member of our small, positive Marketing and Communications team. Your skillset elevates the execution our marketing and communications strategies and assets on all channels, including PR; digital advertising; out-of-home advertising; social; print assets; email marketing; and our website.

 

You bring strong and creative visual design skills; the ability to write clear, compelling content; experience in digital marketing and reporting; proficiency in specific digital tools and platforms; and an interest in marketing for social good.

 

You enjoy working on a range of projects, including small ones; are committed to continuously improving the assets we create; don’t mind a quick turnaround; and appreciate working with a diverse, compassionate team of people committed to helping the thousands of families and individuals our organization serves every year.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent computer, communication, and organizational skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite

 

Education, Training, Experience

  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Post-Secondary Communications & Marketing
    • Currently enrolled in a College or University
    • Must have full-time student status during the periods of Sept 2020 – April 2021 and Sept 2021 April 2022, and be 30 years of age or under

 

Additional Requirements:              

  • Successful completion of criminal record check
  • Must be either a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred un the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  • Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations * International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or Permanent residents

 

YOUR KEY CONTRIBUTIONS:

  • Campaign & Creative Development: Creative campaign concepts and execution using the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, inDesign) Produce and revise artwork
  • Keeping FSGV's social accounts up to date using our social calendar, making content recommendations, finding appropriate accounts to follow/like and responding to messages when needed.
  • Website Maintenance: Update various websites using Squarespace and WordPress

Work Hours:          Monday-Thursday, 28 hours/week (hours are flexible)

Duration:               Duration: 16 weeks, beginning late June 2021

Salary:                   GS 4 Step 1 $1,045.52 gross bi-weekly

Location:               201-1638 E Broadway, Vancouver, with flexibility to work from office or home
(or a combination thereof)
