POSITION OVERVIEW
The Club Board Resource Officer will be a 3/4 time position reporting to the Executive Director, in coordination with the Board identified strategic priorities and operational plans for artistic swimming in the province of Alberta.  The ¾ time position will be 27 hours/week over 5 days.

 

WORK HOURS

Given the nature of the position these hours will be slightly staggered from a typical office work-day with a later start time and extending into early evening hours on some days. There may be further fluctuation based on evening or weekend meeting needs determined.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities of the position relate to the co-ordination and support in the development and delivery of services to the Boards of affiliated clubs of Alberta Artistic Swimming, to include but not limited to:

  • Board governance
    • Club New Board Orientation assistance
    • Inventory of Club Policies
    • General Board Information Support
    • Resource Development
    • SafeSport Initiatives implementation at club level
  • Marketing and social media
    • Liaison with Marketing & Communications committee
    • Procurement activities – economies of scale to develop partner suppliers and service providers
    • General Sport awareness digital material development
    • Resource Development
  • Compliance
    • Oversee compliance/implementation of CAS and AAS policies
    • Injury/Incident Reporting
  • Communications
    • Club Board Member liaison
    • Club section of AAS website
    • Quarterly meetings with Club Presidents
  • Reporting
    • Identification and reporting of gaps and needs of AAS clubs

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or diploma in a related field of Physical Education, Sport Administration or Business, in the area of sport management and/or Canadian Society of Association Executives Certified Association Executive or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience within a non-profit or business with similar or applicable job experience or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • Knowledge of provincial and national sport systems
  • Strong Board governance and policy knowledge
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in conflict management and stakeholder engagement would be considered an asset
  • Technical competency and computer skills
    • Microsoft platforms within Office 365 to include, but not limited to:
      • Outlook
      • Teams
      • Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
      • Planner
    • Formstacks experience considered an asset
    • Canva experience considered an asset
    • Social media platform experience considered an asset
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently

START DATE

No later than August 3, 2021, preferred July 19, 2021 (This position will start as a one-year term position to be reviewed no later than May 2022 for continuation.)
