Adult Day Program Supervisor

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative team member to lead our Adult Day Program teams as an Adult Day Program Supervisor. Under the direction of the Community Hub Managers, the Adult Day Program Supervisor oversees the provision of services to clients who attend the Adult Day Programs in all Community Care Durham locations.

 

The Adult Day Program Supervisor is responsible for leading staff and volunteers, planning, implementing and evaluating service operations, including updating policies, procedures, staffing and programming within CCD’s policy guidelines. 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing support, direction and assistance, including problem solving, to the ADP staff, volunteers, students, clients and caregivers
  • Assisting in the implementation of effective volunteer management practices, training and education
  • Collaborating with management team to improve processes, problem solve issues, develop best practices, create synergies and ensure a holistic client experience
  • Leading hiring and orientation process, plan for staffing needs, participate in recruitment cycle in consultation with the Community Hub Manager and Human Resources
  • Conducting annual staff performance reviews for direct reports and assisting with performance management of all other staff as well as ongoing staff development
  • Meeting the Home and Community Care Support Services (previous CE LHIN) service targets within budget
  • Monitoring targets, planning and implementing practices to ensure targets are achieved
  • Preparing program related policy writing and updating as required
  • Ongoing research into new and innovative supplier/service options
  • Developing formal annual recommendations for program improvement and innovation
  • Service auditing management minimum quarterly, and other auditing as required in programs
  • Annual development, execution, data collation and program modification from ADP simple annual surveys
  • Managing suppliers, purchases in conjunction with Procurement & Contract Coordinator
  • Lead the promotion and marketing of Adult Day Program Services in conjunction with Communications Specialist

 

Qualifications required:

 

  • Post-secondary education degree or diploma in Gerontology, Community Social Services and/or Recreation and Leisure or related relevant field
  • Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of non-profit administration, volunteer and human resource management, public relations and fundraising initiatives
  • Intermediate computer skills required
  • Current Emergency First Aid CPR C & AED certificate required
  • A solid working knowledge of Alzheimer’s Diseases/Dementia processes and a holistic approach to recreation strategies, including the Montessori methods for dementia
  • Ability to be fiscally responsible for annual budget and monitoring it monthly to meet targets
  • Experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds with a variety of diagnoses
  • Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check or Enhanced Police Record Check
  • Sensitivity to adults with needs related to aging, physical and/or mental health
  • Adhere to COVID-19 safety practices
  • Must work in a safe manner and promote the health and safety of all staff, volunteers, clients and the community as outlined within CCD policies

 

Compensation: Starting at $45,001.69 annually; three (3) weeks’ vacation per year of work; 11 paid (including stat) holidays; health, insurance and pension benefits when eligible.

* Pay will be commensurate based on education and experience
