CARE Canada is looking for a… Manager, Digital Marketing and Fundraising—3 Month Contract



The Manager, Digital Marketing and Fundraising is responsible for acquiring leads, gifts, and donors via digital channels.  The Manager oversees paid ad campaigns, online donor stewardship and retention and works closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager on public engagement campaigns. The Manager Digital Marketing and Fundraising reports to the Director of Marketing and Brand and is a key member of the Public Engagement team.


Online fundraising budgeting, strategy, collaboration, performance management (30%)

    • In collaboration with the Director, develop and implement growth and retention strategies for digital giving and supporter engagement
    • Participate and input into departmental budgets, performance targets and evaluation measures
    • Manage digital vendors and liaise with digital suppliers


Digital acquisition of leads, gifts, supporters, and donors (30%)

    • Develops and implements paid digital media for fundraising, lead generation and public engagement campaigns
    • Creates and optimizes campaign landing and donation pages
    • Test and optimize new strategies and platforms for digital giving including, but not limited to, web, email, social, peer-to-peer and text giving.
    • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (e.g.  digital ROAS, CPA, CPL, reach, impressions, CPC, CPM, SEM/SEO)
    • Create focused and compelling content and engagement opportunities for target audiences


Online retention/stewardship and upgrade (30%)

    • Develop and execute optimized donor and supporter journeys
    • Manage digital supporter segments and interests for optimal engagement and revenue
    • Map and execute annual digital calendar and forecasts
    • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (e.g. opens, unsubscribes, conversion rate, reactivation, retention, upgrade)
    • Create focused and compelling content for donors and supporters


 Other (10%)

    • Work with Offline Manager on multichannel fundraising campaigns
    • Work with Marketing and Communications manager, policy lead on public engagement campaigns
    • Liaise with other CARE offices within the CARE Federation to share best practices
    • Promote harmonious and productive working relationships as a member of a team






  • Minimum college diploma or university degree in marketing, computer science, web development or equivalent experience
  •  5 to 7 years of experience in a similar digital marketing role and people management experience
  • Experience with some of: Excel, SQL, Raiser’s Edge, Convio, HTML, CSS, PHP, CMS (e.g. Drupal, WordPress), email marketing software (e.g. Campaigner, Constant Contact)
  • Experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and digital advertising campaigns
  • Strong data manipulation skills
  • Expert knowledge of web/email metrics and benchmarking
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience with social media strategy, execution and measurement
  • Basic graphic design skills for web
  • Proven ability to manage relationships across an organization




Previous experience working in an international NGO including work in development contexts.
