People who are deafblind or affected by sensory loss connect, communicate and experience the world differently. At Sensity, we create meaningful experiences by delivering individualized programming, support services, training, education and awareness.

Sensity seeks an Intake and Children's Services Specialist for an immediate opening for a full time, permanent role. Reporting to the Director of Services, this newly created position is responsible for managing the existing Children's service programs, as well as developing additional family and children's service programs. This position also oversees the intake process for individuals who are seeking services from Sensity.

Key Accountabilities:

Adult Services

  • Intake and screening of new candidates for services
  • Set up new consumers in client database (ShareVision)
  • Manage the waitlist for residential services
  • Act as the point of contact for the Access Intervenor Services System (AIS)

Children's services

  • Transition Planning for Students and families
  • Consultation Services for families
  • Manage the funding program for Children Services
  • Develop and deliver workshops for families and community partners
  • Expansion of the family and children's services programs

Position Requirements

  • College Diploma in Intervenor Services, Social Services or Educational Assistant (EA) program
  • Extensive knowledge of deafblindness
  • Experience working with families
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Proficient and confident in the delivery of training
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, with a strong client service orientation and relationship building skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Solid time management, record keeping, attention to detail and organizational
  • In-depth knowledge of MS Office Suite is preferred, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.
  • Working knowledge of social services or non-profit
