Position: Residential Care Worker – Casual on call up to 40 hours/week with opportunity for future part-time and full-time permanent positions.

 

Location: Residential Group Homes in the Campbell River area (and one in Comox)

 

Hours: As required mornings/evenings, weekends and overnight awake shifts

 

We are looking for a Residential Care Worker to join our team! This individual must be an inspired, innovative, and compassionate team player. Able to provide care and advocacy for adults with developmental disabilities in residential and community settings.

 

We are looking for caring and enthusiastic individuals who possess excellent teamwork skills to join our team here at CRADACL. Residential Care Workers assist and support individuals to live successfully in residential group home settings while implementing the philosophy and values of the association, which is celebrating it's 60th year.

 

RCW's ensure the physical and psychological well-being of adults in our care with emotional, mental health and/or developmental disabilities. RCW's manage the day to day activities of the home including accompanying the client to activities and appointments, grocery shopping, teaching life skills, meal preparation and clean-up, completing daily logs and other reports required.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Human Service Worker Certificate or equivalent.
  • Certification in Community Support Worker or Residential Care Attendant or comparable certification.
  • Specialized training in behavioral management and conflict resolution is desirable but not essential.
  • 3 - 6 month’s prior job related experience working with people with developmental disabilities (paid or volunteer) is desirable.
  • Standard First Aid - Industry and CPR.
  • Class 4 BC Drivers License (to be attained within 90 days of hire).
  • Food Safe Certification.
  • Consent to a Criminal Record Check.
  • Negative Tuberculin Test.
  • Physician’s Approval.
  • Hepatitis B immunization (recommended but not essential).
  • Drivers Abstract.

Any costs incurred are reimbursed following a successful probationary period.
