ABOUT FAMILY SERVICES OF GREATER VANCOUVER (FSGV)

 

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Currently enrolled in a College or University
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in an office environment
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in a culturally diverse workplace
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be able to pass a criminal record check
  • Must be a full-time student January 2022 and be 30 years of age or under
  • Must be either a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred un the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  • Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations * International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or Permanent residents

 

 

HERE’S WHAT WE CAN DO TOGETHER

 

As a Fall Student, supporting our Trauma Services programs, you will be responsible for assisting in the day to day operations of the program, as well as various projects. In collaboration with the program team, you will support the administrative process and other various initiatives as assigned. This is a 9-week term position under the Canada Summer Jobs Program.

 

YOUR KEY CONTRIBUTIONS

Administration

  • Assist in the preparation of documents.
  • Updates files and maintains various filing systems in an organized fashion, including electronic files, data tracking sheets,
  • Provides overall administrative and clerical support coverage to the program, as well as to other functions where necessary.
  • Answers general inquiries received by the department or triages to other colleagues for reply.

Project Management

  • Assists in the implementation and maintenance of various projects and initiatives including tracking progress
  • Supports preparation of project communications and project documentation and implementation

Customer/Client Support

  • Supports client/customers (internal and external) of the department by answering general questions, providing policy or other information and elevating to other team members as appropriate
  • Engages in promoting and living the core values of the Agency
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Work Hours: 30 hours/week – Monday to Friday 10am-5pm

Salary: $15.64/hr plus 4% in lieu of vacation

Location: Vancouver

Term: 9 weeks – September 13, 2021 – November 5, 2021
