CONDITIONS

  • Starting salary: $55,000-60,000 / year

POSITION SUMMARY

Ottawa Riverkeeper is seeking a passionate and results-oriented Project Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Executive Director and collaborating with all members of the dynamic Ottawa Riverkeeper team, you will ensure that important organizational projects meet their deliverables on schedule and on budget. As Project Manager you will serve as a key member of the Ottawa Riverkeeper team in developing project plans, prioritizing work to achieve project objectives, assessing required resources, and collaborating proactively with staff and external stakeholders to manage interdependencies. We are seeking a creative, technically and financially savvy problem-solver who is able to effectively communicate with management and stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PROJECT MANAGER

  • Leading the implementation of Ottawa Riverkeeper projects, as directed by the Executive Director. 
  • Planning, analyzing, forecasting and coordinating the control of budgets
  • Providing financial management reports, forecasts and related financial spreadsheets to management
  • Coordinate/manage day-to-day activities, tracking deliverable status, monitoring resource requirements.
  • Collaborating with our teams and committees, ensuring that information flows between work groups seamlessly
  • Using Ottawa Riverkeeper’s collaboration software (Asana) to monitor and report on progress.
  • Other tasks as required by the Executive Director 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree/college diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience, ideally in a business-related field
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, Google Suite) essential 
  • Experience in managing complex/multiple projects or initiatives
  • Experience in providing advice and recommendations on multi-disciplinary projects, outcomes and results
  • Experience in collaborating and consulting with external stakeholders is considered an asset, including, but not limited to: community groups, Indigenous rights holders, other non-profit organizations, and government.
  • A genuine interest in and support for our cause and a passion for environmental issues
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written)
  • Motivated and creative with a strong work ethic, professional integrity, and a team player
  • Flexibility to work some evenings/weekends as required
