The Canadian Red Cross Society, a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world, is seeking a Partner Services Associate for the HELP program. The Health Equipment Loan Program is a provincial service that provides a variety of mobility and health assistance aids to support patients in recovery from illness and remaining in their communities. 

Reporting to the Partner Services Manager, this position meets the needs of clients and health authorities through effective coordination, planning, organization, and implementation of the HELP Program within the program service area. Specifically, the Partner Services Associate oversees the day-to-day activities related to the delivery of health equipment to clients and liaises with Interior Health in order to achieve the HELP objectives and contractual obligations with the Health Authority.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees the day-to-day aspects of HELP, Partner Services, including maintenance of client/loan records, waitlist management, and communications with clients, healthcare professionals and Interior Health Team Leads and Managers.
  • Develops and maintains strong, proactive working relationships with Interior Health and ensures appropriate communication between HELP and Interior Health representatives to resolve program challenges, service delivery issues and discuss program needs.
  • Participates in the development and ensures implementation of procedures and practice standards related to contract and/or agreed client services.
  • Monitors program delivery to ensure performance standards and quality control; evaluates means of achieving goals and objectives; analyzes service delivery and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Recruits, trains, supervises, evaluates and supports staff and volunteers
  • Allocates staff, volunteer and budget resources to meet services and HELP program objectives.
  • In collaboration with the Partner Services Manager, represents the Red Cross HELP Program at regional governance meetings with Interior Health Representatives; this includes preparing materials, statistical and program operational data as well as other materials as requested by the Partner Services Manager.
  • Maintains solid working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.



Education and Experience:

The minimum qualifications for this job are completion of a post-secondary diploma in a related field, such as the health or social sciences field; a minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in a related field, including experience working in an administrative role in an office environment; and minimum three (3) years’ experience in supervising employees; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Abilities and Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with various levels of complexities
  • Proven judgement and decision making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Creative and strong problem solving skillset combined with collaborative negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and superior customer service skills
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs and solid working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
  • Valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Willing and able to take First Aid Certification (training provided)


  • Experience with health contract management
  • Strong coaching skills
  • Experience working with and reporting to a remote supervisor
  • Experience supervising remote employees
  • Experience in process design
  • Experience in evaluating and increasing operational efficiencies


Working Conditions:

  • 35-hour work week (Monday to Friday), with the majority of work performed in an office environment.
  • May be required to travel to other Red Cross sites within the region.
  • Occasional requirement to work overtime hours, often with short notice.
