NIKKEI SENIORS HEALTH CARE & HOUSING SOCIETY

 

VTR (Videotape Recording) Editor

(8 weeks, 35 hours per week, starting August 5th, $18.00/hr.)

 

Tasks & Responsibilities: 

The VTR Editor will film Activity Workers while they lead activities/exercise, as well as the residents as they participate in these. They will edit/process the footage to produce high-quality videos for DVDs and YouTube, for use on our website and by individual residents. The VTR Editor must keep in mind the wide range of cognitive ability and exposure to technology within the resident population, and work to create material that is accessible. They will film a variety of different activities, such as exercise, arts and crafts, cognitive training, and more. They may also film areas of Nikkei Home such as vacant suites, common areas and resident interviews for educational and promotional purposes.

 

 

To be eligible, must:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment period;
  • have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year, and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
  • be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

 

Other criteria:

  • Access to professional-quality video and audio recording equipment is an asset
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. Premiere Pro, Audition, After Effects), and access to a paid version copy is an asset
  • Experience with seniors is an asset
  • Fluency in Japanese is an asset
