WINGS of Providence, a non-profit agency that provides second-stage shelter, affordable housing and wrap around support services for women and children who have experienced family violence, is accepting applications for a Full Time Child Care Supervisor.


The Child Care Supervisor is responsible for managing WINGS onsite Licensed Child Care in our second-stage shelter. We are looking for an individual who has experience with a non-profit structure, firm knowledge of Licensing Inspection and Regulations. Candidate must have extensive knowledge in trauma-informed best practices, the effects of trauma on brain development, and strategies for enhancing attachment and bonding in the parent/child relationship. Applicants must be eager to celebrate cultural diversity within the childcare setting in collaboration with other staff at the shelter. Applicants must have strong understanding of cultural safety practices in a childcare environment. Strong written and verbal language skills are essential. They must have the ability to take direction and to follow organizational Policies and Procedure and Code of Conduct. Must be energetic, in good physical health and enjoy working with infant, toddler, and preschool age children.


This position will encompass many duties including:

  • Working with vulnerable children and parents
  • Collaborating with the Program Manager of WINGS
  • Managing a small Child Care team and working with volunteers
  • Program development and implementation


Requirements of the successful candidate:

  • Level lll required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Valid First Aid, current Criminal Record Check and Intervention Check required
  • Must be able to receive direction, be self-directed, decisive, flexible, and a team player.
  • Must communicate effectively and manage time.
  • Comfortable with computers


Hours of shift work are:

  • Monday - Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
  • 37.5 hr./wk.
