Responsibilities and Description

 

This position requires a highly organized person who is responsible for coordinating programs, professional development, community engagement, client relations and administrative work. This position will also track budgets for various programs.

  • Effectively and efficiently provide administrative support to the Manager and for a team of program staff in Edmonton and other locations in the Prairies
  • Ensure all program information and program content are accessible, appropriate, and up to date according to BCW in Action’s standard
  • Coordinate, schedule, and track client meetings, training opportunities, and events
  • Coordinate community partnership programs
  • Working with program manager to build reports for senior management, Board, and external partners
  • Support program implementation through group scheduling, paperwork maintenance and documentation
  • Prepare agenda, take minutes and participate in team meetings as required
  • Develop forms and records for program activities (such as creating infographics and worksheets for programs)
  • Assist with documentation for compliance
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy filing
  • Ensure program and agency policies are followed at all times
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture
  • Other related duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate professional attitudes, characteristics, and practices
  • Experience working within a non-profit environment and/or supporting programs working with individuals
  • Proven track record of working in a client-facing role
  • Have sufficient technical knowledge/skills including Microsoft Office
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a similar position and providing coordination for a program or project, with demonstrated success in setting and achieving program targets
  • Hands-on experience in projects and programs with a diversity lens
  • Excellent communication skills, time management, verbal and written communication
  • Exceptional organization skills with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills are essential to this position
  • Very detail oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Skilled at troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Friendly, polite and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced, demanding environment

 

Requirements

  • College or High School diploma (with relevant experience) or equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Post-secondary education preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience supporting senior management in a similar role
  • Proficient skills with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Bilingual English/French is an asset

 

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Edmonton (1 position)

Salary: $49,000 - $52,000 per year
