Job Summary: 

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator plays an essential, supporting role in maintaining the quality and effectiveness of Artscape’s external marketing and communications activities, while supporting colleagues, enterprise-wide, on shared projects and initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a team to drive public awareness, interest and engagement for Artscape and its artist communities. Reporting to the Manager, Communications and working closely with key internal stakeholders, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator’s key duties include functions such as, but not limited to: executing the digital content strategy, coordinating social media activities, liaising with both internal and external clients on select initiatives, responding to and managing inflow of marketing requests, providing creative and campaign support along with copywriting and other marcom duties to support the collective department goals. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Using excellent writing skills, supports with the Communications needs of the Marcom team by writing and/or editing of blog posts, member highlights, marketing messages and other content
  • Posts content for all organizational blogs in a timely manner and works with designer to ensure imagery and layout is on-brand 
  • Assists Communications Manager with coordinating content collection, layout and distribution of internal e-newsletter
  • In coordination with Communications and marketing team and cross-departmental staff, measures and reports on promotional and social media campaigns and activities for Artscape initiatives 
  • Provide dedicated marketing and communications support to key lines of business in accordance to priority activations and timelines (including and not limited to Artscape Daniels Launchpad, artsUNITE + APEV)
  • Liaise with various third-party vendors such as audio/visual production teams and artists to plan, schedule and develop creative assets as needed
  • Supports management of organization-wide image/video media server, appropriately labelling and saving images submitted from all sources using Adobe Bridge; creates records of photo credits/permissions and licensing for special projects 
  • Using project management tool, coordinates all Marketing and Communications team project schedules & deliverables related to Artscape events and projects, setting, reviewing and maintaining workflows to ensure projects stay on track and deliverables are met 
  • Acts as gatekeeper for all digital and print marketing creative requests, working with all departments and designer to vet and support their Marcom needs. Tracks all creative requests
  • Contributes to Marketing and Communications team meetings and planning sessions, as needed, to help achieve deliverables and measurable organizational outcomes
  • Develops surveys from time to time in Survey Monkey or other platforms as needed
  • Provides organizational administrative support through HR social postings, updating internal communications documents
  • Provides admin support on financial reconciliation in accordance with financial policies and budgets
  • Other duties, projects and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Experience

 

  • Minimum three (2) years of professional experience in marketing and/or communications
  • Completion of a relevant post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree program in journalism, communications, marketing, business administration or related fields preferred
  • Strong familiarity with communications, marketing and social media planning and evaluation of campaigns and initiatives
  • Experience coordinating social media, email and website content and posts
  • Knowledge of various marketing concepts and practices, particularly event and membership marketing
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with experience in copywriting and editing for a variety of audiences in web, social and print
  • Excellent organizational, administrative and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines and prioritize, with superb attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound knowledge of social media platforms, such as Planable and or other similar tools
  • Familiar in the use of Adobe Creative Cloud products
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and WordPress

Salary range:  $41,300 - $55,880
