The Edmonton Seniors Coordinating Council (ESCC) plays a leadership role in empowering the Edmonton seniors’ sector to become more collaborative, connected and coordinated. In its role, ESCC convenes tables of thought leaders, experts, changemakers, program developers, and grassroots activists to support older adults. These eager stakeholders come from diverse sectors and are working together to reimagine aging in Edmonton. Collaborative efforts to benefit older adults are taking place at all levels—from providing services and programming to advocating for systems-level change.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Strategic Specialist will advance key initiatives to influence change that benefits older adults. Assessing key initiatives for strategic relevance and fit to the vision of ESCC will be required. The Strategic Specialist will work with ESCC staff and board to be strategic in planning and support them to operationalize those strategies.
The successful candidate will build linkages and facilitate collaborative action with member organizations, community leaders, key stakeholders and government, as well as support the ESCC’s leadership and/or backbone roles for various initiatives.

Education and Experience:
The Strategic Specialist is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week). Hours may vary outside typical workday scheduling, should meetings or events take place in the evening or weekend. ESCC offers a flexible office environment with option to occasionally work from home. Salary is commensurate with training and experience.
