Hastings Community Out of School Care

OSC Leader

 

 

Overview

 

This position is for a part time Leader in the Out of School Care Program, providing safe drop off and pick up of children from neighbouring schools. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide care/supervision and plan for a safe exciting and age appropriate program for 5-12 year old children in a Community Centre setting
  • To communicate with other staff in a respectful manner
  • Liaise with Park Board Staff and other programs in the Community Centre
  • To follow the guidelines of the Job Description of the Out of School Care Leader

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Age 19 years
  • Minimum of 20 hours post-secondary training in child development, guidance, health and safety, nutrition and relevant work experience and/or a Responsible Adult Certificate
  • Valid First Aid Certification
  • Clear Criminal Records Check
  • ECE Diploma an asset
  • Experience working with children 5-12 years old

 

 

 

 

Employment Term

 

  • Shifts available are from 4 to 30 hours a week (some split shifts available)
  • Program operating hours are 7:30 to 9:00 am and 3:00 to 6:00
  • Staffing hours are 7:15 to 9:15 am and 2:15 to 6:15 pm
  • Positions available September 7, 2021

 

 

Salary

 

$ 18.33 per hour - $ 19.38 (2019 rates) plus 4% to 12% depending on hours worked – benefits available for permanent part time employees after 90 days probation.

This position falls under the Collective Agreement between Hastings Community Association and CUPE 1936, union dues debited from pay bi-weekly.  All other benefits will accrue as per the Collective Agreement.
