Learn about the work we do:


The Administrative Assistant will oversee the general office duties within JVS Toronto’s head office and provide support to JVS Toronto’s Scarborough office. The Administrative Assistant is resourceful, organized and possesses strong problem solving skills. Ensuring a steady completion of workload in a timely manner is key to success in this position.


We’re looking for someone who will:

  • Share reception duties and customer service to all clients, employers and visitors
  • Provide clerical support, including editing and formatting reports, preparing and completing agency and government forms, word processing of correspondence, reports and other materials, filing, faxing and photocopying
  • Set up, maintain and file client records in EOIS CAMS as requested. Prepare rosters of clients as needed. Assist with statistical and program reports
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment. Assist location staff with all administrative and other related duties
  • Provide administrative support in processing claims for the training incentive component. Maintain up-to-date client and employer files


Flexible hours / evenings / weekends may be required for this position.


Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • High School Diploma, College Diploma in administration preferred
  • 2 years of current relevant office administrative experience
  • Excellent time management skills, detailed oriented, accurate
  • Superior organizational skill and dedicated to completing projects in a timely manner
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and strong interpersonal skills; a sensitivity to diversity and the ability to work effectively with persons with developmental disabilities and / or mental health, and multi-berried clients
  • The ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Computer literate; the ability to learn systems used by the agency (ie. SalesForce)
