Community Resource Service is looking for an enthusiastic Fundraising Coordinator to plan, develop and implement a robust fundraising and communications program for our organization.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Fundraising Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

Fund Development:

  • Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan
  • Create a capital fundraising plan for a new building project
  • Cultivate and grow individual and major donors
  • Implement agency business sponsorship program
  • Operationalize agency fundraising initiatives and events
  • Write and coordinate grants with the Executive Director
  • Plan and execute special events with Fundraising Committee
  • Work with 3rd parties to support their fundraising initiatives and events
  • Develop and implement donor stewardship
  • Manage donor database on an ongoing basis

Communications:

  • Develop and implement agency communication plan to encourage support for agency work
  • Generate and develop digital engagement and content
  • Development of media releases for local media and newspapers
  • Initiate strategic communications in alignment with fundraising goals
  • Generate fundraising and interpretive materials for specific audiences, including appeals, thank you letters, donor communications
  • Generate written materials as needed
  • Work within the fund development and marketing budget
  • Work with local media for advertising, promotion, and news about program areas
  • Work with vendors on a regular basis
  • Manage all social media accounts, website, and digital engagement needs including content development, engagement, and analytics
  • Take photos and write stories for marketing purposes

Qualifications:

  • Fund development experience an asset
  • Related community college or university degree preferred. New graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Experience in non-profit fundraising including the development of individual giving, corporate engagement and event programs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising trends and successful fundraising strategies
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of effective communication and engagement strategies
  • Competency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, programs,
  • Familiarity and knowledge of donor database programs
  • Graphic design skill a plus
  • Ability to relate effectively with diverse audiences, including Board members, major donors, foundation staff, media outlets and community audiences
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, problem solve and work as part of a cohesive and collaborative team
  • Valid Ontario Drivers license and access to a vehicle
