JVS Toronto is a registered charity in the social services sector. Our mission is to enable people to maximize their potential at work and school. The JVS Employment Source office, funded by MLTSD funded by MLTSD, provides a range of services at one location, including information and referral services, one-on-one employment counselling, employment workshops and job development/ placement services. We provide our services to a variety of clients, including persons with disabilities and mental illness through the Generating Opportunities for Learning Disability (GOLD) and ASD programs.

We’re looking for someone who will:

  • Develop, manage and implement practices, policies and procedures for consistent employment services in all components of Employment Ontario –Employment Services (ES) & Ontario Employment Assistance Services
  • Provide management and leadership to ensure ongoing communications among staff, community partners and funders
  • Oversee all aspects of staff management, hiring and performance
  • Manage ongoing development, evaluation and continuous improvement of the ES model ensuring that the site’s procedures, processes and performance commitments, funding, outcomes and program expenditures are in compliance with our Employment Services agreements
  • Participate in yearly business plan development, preparation of quarterly estimate of expenditure reports and other compliance reports as required by funder
  • Report on budgets, monitor expenses, and resolve financial issues
  • Manage GOLD and ASD programs, establish meaningful partnerships for programs promotion/referrals, oversee programs delivery and be responsible for funder reporting
  • Promote JVS Toronto Disability Service programs to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Market and outreach; partner, liaise and collaborate with community organizations and funders to increase the profile of JVS Toronto
  • Understanding of disabilities, such as learning, ADHD, ASD, and mental health challenges in a vocational and employment based setting

 

Flexible hours / evenings / weekends may be required for this position.

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field
  • Knowledge of and exposure to Employment Ontario service model
  • 3+ years of management experience, preferably in the social services sector
  • Experience administering budgets and financial reporting
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop professional relationships and motivate and coach employees
  • Demonstrated ability to develop employees and implement and meet performance management standards
  • Effecting problem solving skills with the ability to make decisions
  • Effective organization skills; detail oriented
  • Effective time management skills; the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • Computer literate; the ability to learn systems used by the agency
  • A clear Vulnerable Sector Check
