Position Overview

Job Position:                                              Curriculum Developer (2 temporary positions)

Number of weeks:                                      9 weeks

Hours per week:                                        20hrs 

Salary:                                                        $18.00 hour

Reporting to:                                             Director, Strategic Initiatives or designate

Location:                                                   Virtual – anywhere in B.C.


This position, as a requirement of the Federal Government Summer Jobs Program, is only open to youth under 30 years of age



Are you interested in Instructional Design and Curriculum Development? Would you like to be part of a team creating interactive eLearning for Health Care Providers focusing on Palliative care and the Palliative approach to care?  We are looking for two (2) individuals who can support this project. 

You will work to develop a curriculum plan, will be responsible for research, revision and adaptation of new and existing materials, and produce a curriculum guide / content to be used across the province.

The BC Centre for Palliative Care (BCCPC) works with partners in the health system and community to accelerate the spread of innovations and best practices in palliative care. We strive to help British Columbians affected by serious illnesses have the best possible quality of life possible, supported by care that reflects their goals and wishes.



  • Develops learning objectives and outcomes linking to Core Competencies for online eLearning
  • Develops and writes course materials and writes exams and other assessment tools
  • Determines evaluation criteria for learning module

Education/Work Experience:  

  • Bachelor's degree (or working towards a degree) in Nursing, Social Work, and other Health Sciences programs and /or training and course work in Adult Education and curriculum development
  • Experience in the development & delivery of course material for eLearning
  • Knowledge of program planning, program development and program evaluation methods
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Work experience in healthcare and/or non-profit sector an asset

  • Ability to act independently and apply creative problem-solving to analyze project processes and make sound recommendations
  • Commitment to meeting timelines and project benchmarks
  • Highly developed communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment
  • The successful individual must be a self-starter and be able to work with limited supervision
  • Strong computer literacy with Office 365, online platforms such as Zoom and Teams, word-processing, spreadsheets, presentations, project management and database applications.
